In an average month, the
Office
of Employment and Training provides
unemployment insurance benefits to 30,000 Kentuckians who are
unemployed through no fault of their own.
Unemployment insurance
benefits sustain families when their breadwinners are between jobs.
Unemployment insurance
benefits also have an economic impact on the commonwealth with the monthly
infusion of $51.5 million into Kentucky’s communities.
To apply for unemployment
insurance, visit a local office of the
Office
of Employment and Training.
When you apply, please bring
a photo ID and a social security card.
If you are eligible for unemployment insurance benefits, a formula will be used
to determine the amount of your weekly check. Effective July 1, 2006,
checks must be at least $39 and no more than $401.
