Unemployment Insurance (OUI)

The Kentucky Office of Unemployment Insurance (OUI), a partner in the Kentucky Career Center, provides unemployment insurance benefits to employees when they lose their job through no fault of their own.

In order to file a claim for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits the employee must be separated from the employer or experience a reduction in work hours.

Kentucky Career Center provides services to job seekers including:

  • Re-employment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) helps laid-off people get back to work faster.
  • Trade assistance helps workers who have lost their job as a result of increased imports out of the United States.
  • Employment services assists job seekers with items such as resume writing, job search and training opportunities.
  • Veteran services helps those who have served in the armed forces with finding a job or training opportunities.

If you have a high school diploma or GED, but have not yet attained an Associate’s Degree, you may be eligible for TUITION FREE college education through the Work Ready Scholarship!

If you do not have a high school diploma/GED, you can take the GED for free while supplies last!
